So some of you may know me, and some of you may not. Today the blog post is a personal post that I am SO excited for you to see!! To some, this may just be a bunch of pictures of animals, while for me, it’s a special look into the life I live everyday that I adore.
Meet Shrek the Jersey bull calf đŸ™‚ Read this post to see more adorable animal pictures!
I grew up on a farm. I’ve had beef cattle and horses my whole life and my dad also raises row crops, corn and soybeans! I went to school for agriculture (agri business and crop science) and now my full time job is being a sales agronomist. I work with farmers to help them develop a cropping plan, I sell them the inputs they need to grow the crops of their choosing. So I’m heavily involved in agriculture, and in the small community I’ve been raised in, I probably always will be, and I will never complain about it because I absolutely love it!!
This blog post helps tie my two worlds together, photography and agriculture. I hope to continue to do this in the future. I want to take pictures of agriculture to help educate the general public about where their food comes from and to help them understand how agriculture and farming have evolved into something incredible over the last 100 years. I want to be able to answer your questions and to show you first hand how it all works! But today, my blog post is just a glimse into it. It’s a post about the animals that my boyfriend Kyle and I personally are raising as a hobby because we just simply like doing it!! Also, when you see these pictures, you’ll understand why we do it, the cuteness is overwhelming!! We currently have 4 chickens, 2 kitties, and 3 baby jersey bull calves đŸ™‚ It’s just a start to the farm we hope to have one day!
If you have questions, I’d LOVE to answer them!
This is our kitty, Jimmy!
And this is our other kitty, Camo!
Camo & Jimmy like to hang out with the chickens. It’s a perfectly normal relationship.
The calves are my favorite models in the snow! Jerseys have huge adorable eyes, so the snowflakes on their eyelashes make for beautiful pictures!
This was the first time they ever saw snow, + they absolutely loved it!
Check back frequently to see more pictures of our favorite farm animals! đŸ™‚
