A wedding to remember! This was a busy wedding day packed with emotion and laughter surrounded by family and friends. I SO enjoyed being there during every second. First looks with Ali and her bridesmaids, dad, and finally Brett. All somehow better than the previous one. So many emotions were captured on camera and those moments make this job so much fun for me.
After photographing weddings for 8 years, somehow this was the first wedding I’ve photographed in the beautiful church, Saint Bronislava Catholic Church which I grew up attending, so that was pretty special! After the ceremony, we almost had a scare, we were on a tight timeline with rain on the radar, and I locked my keys in my vehicle, WITH all my camera gear inside, yikes. The Good Lord was obviously on our side helping us along because somehow after pushing the button on my door a few times, it just decided to unlock, PHEW. Thank you Jesus! We also had rain on the radar in almost a perfect circle around us with it being clear where we were taking bridal party photos, how amazing. We did end up having some sprinkles while we were taking bride and groom portraits at the Par 4 golf and resort golf course where the reception was held but Brett + Ali were incredibly trusting and pushed through with NO concerns. They wanted the portraits (thank gosh) even though it was sprinkling and boy did we get them some gorgeous portraits despite the rain! I just have to say, It means so much to me when couples trust my judgement and go with the flow because they want to give me full reins to deliver a gorgeous end product. Love love love.
As soon as we finished up portraits, it started raining quite a. bit harder. We went in for cocktail hour to get the party started. Brett + Ali flew the musician Mitch Clark in from Nashville to sing and play guitar. Mitch is a musician they met in Nashville the night they got engaged. Brett and Ali were in a bar in Nashville, this guy, Mitch, was performing. Brett went up asked Mitch if he could sing a specific song because he was planning to propose to Ali, Mitch said let me learn it real quick and I sure will! So he learned it and sang it within 10 minutes, and Brett proposed to Ali and the rest is history! They thought it was only fitting that he be at the wedding to perform also. What an amazing story, I just love it.
The local Band, Blame it on Waylon, was the reception act and they knocked it out of the park per usual! They got the party GOING, the crowd just loved it. Overall it was just the most fun day with a great group of family and friends.
Brett + Ali, you are just the best. I so appreciate you trusting me to capture this incredibly special day for you. Now, let’s take a peek at some of my favorites from the day!!
